Introducing Adria Grace

Born Sunday September 27th around 11:30 in the morning. This 'big' little girl caused her mom loads of grief. We were forced to do an emergency c-section, but everyone is happy and healthy now (relatively). We found out the umbilical cord was wrapped around her head and neck, obviously causing problems. She weighed in at 8 pounds 14 ounces and just over 21 inches.

Here are some pictures of Adria Grace. More latter, but this is it for now.

May 1st

Okay, completely forgot to post the May 1st baby belly picture, so here it is!! This would have been about 19 weeks. And really they were taken on May 2nd. Blame Kyle for that one!

May 12, 2009

I went to the doctor last Tuesday for my 20 week appt. (WOO HOO for the half way point). Anyway, she says things look great and that she was ordering an ultrasound. I got excited and hoped that I would be able to go that day since Kyle's aunt Sandy (she works at the hospital in OB) told me I would have to wait a week because that's how long it usually took for an opening. Well the girl at the office called and nope, no such luck. I had to wait until the next day!! Anyway, so I couldn't wait for the next day. My appointment was at 3:00. Kyle was going to meet me at the hospital because he wanted to prove it was a boy. I get there before him and read the paper that says he won't be allowed to be in the room until they are done doing all the technical stuff. So I go in the room with the nice lady I had for my last ultrasound. She plops the gel on which was rather warm I might add as I was expecting it to be cold! She starts her business, lets me hear the heart and then keeps going about her business for what seems like an ETERNITY!! FINALLY, she goes out and gets Kyle to show us baby Jump. She's looking around and of course it's behind was facing us. At first she says, "Well I don't see anything hanging, I think that means you are having a girl." I'm pumped at this point. However, then she deflates my little balloon. She says after changing views, "Oh shoot, that's the umbilical cord between it's legs!" That little booger is already as uncooperative as it's daddy!! She kept trying, but no such luck. It was moving all over the place and kicking and punching and opening it's mouth. Don't get me wrong, it's one of the coolest things ever, but darn the little thing! I wanted to find out!! So needless to say, we still have NO IDEA what baby Jump will be!! But as the nurse said, "The important thing is that it's healthy." Which I completely agree with. Just wish we could have found out!!

Since baby Jump wants to be a surprise, we decided to go with a Safari theme for the nursery. Monkeys and Lions and Giraffes OH MY!! :) I'll work on getting ultrasound pictures posted in the near future!

Doc visit

I had another doctor visit on Monday. I walk in, get weighed, then go pee in a cup. This time the helper lady says, "grab one of the regular cups." To which I say, "One without a lid?" She laughs and says yes. I think to myself, this is weird that I'm peeing in a cup that most people would not thinking about peeing in but rather think about having an ice cold refreshing beverage out of. Weird! Anyway, so I go in the room after I finish my business and she takes my blood pressure and what not. Then the doc comes in and says, "Everything looks good, except you haven't gained any weight in a month." I think to myself are you kidding? MY PANTS DON'T FIT! However, then I remembered (obviously something I wanted to forget) that I had the flu 2 weeks ago and lost between 4-5 lbs. She said that would do the trick. I then proceeded to tell her that I can't eat meat anymore. I look at it and might take a bite but then I can't stand to look at it anymore. She laughs, says that's normal and to eat more peanut butter, nuts, milk and cheese. Then she makes me get up on the table and lay down and puts that cold goopy stuff on my belly and turns on the doppler. This time she finds baby bean's heartbeat rather quickly and it's making the whoosh whoosh sound that it makes and then BAM! She goes OH that was definitely a kick! So we start listening again because mind you she's trying to count it's little heartbeats and BAM another kick. She finishes by saying it's heartbeat is between 150-160 beats a minute and that is normal considering how active baby bean seems to be. I then ask when we get to find out what baby bean is and she laughs at me again and says I have to wait 4 more weeks. She says that it's parts are developed but that it's easier to tell at 2o weeks. So when I have my next appointment then she'll order an ultrasound. I don't think May 12th can come soon enough!!

On a different note, last night when Kyle came to bed he tells me he loves me, but then rubs my belly and says, "I think I love you too." Too cute! :)

The first

Since there are many things happening in our lives, I figured I would start posting on the most important to keep everyone updated at the same time! I'm 15 weeks along now and my next doctor's appointment is April 13. We should get to find out what it will be next month! Kyle and Kira both think it's going to be a boy. I just want it to be healthy! (but let's face it, girls clothes are SOOO much cuter!) Speaking of baby clothes, I kind of went crazy when Katie and I went shopping in Michigan city. I got many cute unisex onesies and little outfits. I love ducks and the jungle animals! I'll post a picture of my belly when Kyle gets them on the computer.
